-
How long will my bar of soap last?Typically if you follow our suggestions for use and storing, you can expect your bar to last 4-6 weeks with normal daily use.
-
What can I do to extend the life of my bar of soap?Allow your bar to completely dry between uses by storing on a soap deck/tray or soap saver pad that allows air to flow around it and water to drain. Keeping your bar out of pooled water or steady drip/stream of water will help in extending the life as well. Using a cloth, sponge, soap saver pouch etc and/or avoid rubbing bar directly over body will help your bar last longer as well.
-
Does your soap contain lye?Yes, we use sodium hydroxide (which is lye) to make our soap. Without it – no soap can be made. It is the ingredient which saponifies the base oils we use in the soap making process. While it’s used for making soap, there is no lye present in the final product – it’s all used up during the saponification process.
-
Are your soaps safe for those with sensitive skin or for babies? Our soaps are very gentle on the skin and we make very careful consideration of ingredients used to create nourishing and gentle soaps. However, I recommend reading through the ingredients which are listed in the product description of all of our products to be certain there is nothing you are sensitive to. We do have unscented bars available for those who have sensitive skin. It’s always a good idea to do a patch test on a small area of skin to test out the soap/product before using if you are uncertain of a possible sensitivity or allergy. As always if you have any health concerns please consult with your private physician before use.
-
Where do your soaps and products get their fragrance from?We only scent our soaps and flavor our balms with essential oils or other plant extracts. You will never find fragrance oils or synthetic chemicals containing fragrances or flavors in our ingredient line-up,

I have a bar of soap saved from 6 months or more from you, is it still safe to use?Absolutely! As a matter of fact as long as your bar was stored in a cool and dry location it has had even longer time to cure…think of your bar as a bottle of good french wine, the longer its aged the better it is. The same concept goes for soap, a longer curing time allows for a harder bar and one that will generate good luscious lather. The only drawback to it sitting for longer period is that the essential oils may have dissipated somewhat so the scent may not be as strong any longer.
